Six of the students volunteered with Remar organization in Ghana. They worked as part of a local school run by the organization near Accra, assisted the school staff and ran after-school activities for the children. 

The remaining three students traveled to Rwanda and volunteered with the Agahozo- Shalom Youth Village, working with orphans from the 1994 genocide.. They participated in the educational program, assisted with logistical needs, built new computer interfaces and more.
