The students travelled to Ghana for a period of three months and were based in Accra and Kumasi. The group in Accra volunteered with BASICS INTERNATIONAL, an organization working with underprivileged communities together with the Ghanaian Government and other Global organizations to help fight extreme poverty. The students took part in the summer program for children giving classes and running the extracurricular activity. The group in Kumasi worked under the auspices of The Otumfuo osei tutu II foundation, the organization of the Asante king and took part in the foundation’s education, health, technology and arts programs.
